About us

A 1971 graduate of Norwich University, Fred Farrell began his career summers operating a small coatings company, which he incorporated in 1968. This business, Maine Tennis Court, evolved and grew over the years, working from Maine to Washington DC. and west to Chicago. In the early 90s Farrell changed its name to Maine Tennis and Track to better represent its accomplishments.

In late 1999, tiring of the day to day business of running a construction company, Farrell sold Maine Tennis and Track to pursue what he loved and that was working with contractors and owners to design, spec and problem solve tennis courts and running tracks. Hence Farrell Consulting & Sport Surfacing was incorporated in 1999.

Note from George BushIn 1980 while owner of his former company, Fred was hired by then vice president George Bush to construct a tennis court at his home in Kennebunkport, Maine. Fred went on to work at the White House for Ex-President Bush refurbishing the existing tennis court. Today Farrell Consulting & Sport Surfacing is still employed by President Bush.
